David Cortright ( He, Him, His )

Dave has lived experience with chronic anxiety and depression. He is a certified professional coach (New Ventures West), a trained crisis counselor (Crisis Text Line), a peer mentor (NAMI), and a compassionate listener (7 Cups).

Previously he spent 20 years as a designer and manager at Silicon Valley tech companies (Apple, Microsoft, Yahoo!, Venrock, ...) and 5 years as technology director at Wildlife Conservation Network. He is on the advisory council for Vegan Outreach and he is part of the Effective Altruism community, focusing on community building and global mental health and well-being. He has a Master’s in Computer Science from Stanford and a Bachelor’s in Engineering Physics from Michigan. He lives in Palo Alto, CA.
